Upon arrival crews assisted with traffic control and cleaning up debris in the roadway. One patient was transported to FMH by NorthStar Ambulance. Farmington Units cleared in about a half hour. |

SWIFT WATER RESCUE ON THE SANDY RIVER |

| FARMINGTON: 7/24/08 14:00- Units were dispatched to the the Sandy River in Farmington for a reported rafter in distress. Upon arrival firefighters done their cold water rescue suits and entered the swift moving water. Rescuers were able to get a life preserver to the victim and then sent ropes across with the rescue rocket. The victim was secured with the safety rope and was guided to the rescuers on the bank. No injuries were reported. Farmington Units cleared in about an hour. | ![]() |

| NEW SHARON: 5/23/08 - Units were dispatched to the Crystal Vale Road in New Sharon for mutual aid for a possible woods fire. C-2, Squad 1, & Engine 2 responded. Upon arrival crews assisted New Sharon with a small fire on the side of the road. Crews worked to extinguish hot spots. Farmington Units cleared in about a half an hour. | ||||||
KITCHEN FIRE IN UMF DORM |

| FARMINGTON: 5/22/08 - 20:05 Farmington Fire Units were dispatched to Lincoln Street for a fire alarm at Daikin Hall at UMF. Upon Arrival crews found a small kitchen fire in the basement of the building. The fire was quickly extinguished and crew worked to overhaul the room. Boiled over deep frying oil was the cause of the fire. Units cleared the scene in about an hour. | ||||||
COMPANY 3 TRAINS ON NEW HOSE LAY ON TOWER 3 |

| FARMINGTON: 5/22/08 - 18:00 Company 3's May fire training consisted of practicing using the new hose lay on Tower 3. Teams rotated positions until everyone had a chance to utilize the new system. It appears that the new hose lay is a much more efficient way of taking hose off the trash line of the truck. The crew found the small scale training very valuable. | ||||||
WATER SUPPLY TRAINING ON TAP FOR MAY |

| FARMINGTON: 5/13/08 - 18:00 May fire training consisted of setting up water supply at the fire scene. Two folding tanks were set up and two jet siphons were added to transport water from tank to tank. Rural water supply is a major piece to the puzzle at most every structure fire in the county. Members who took the Rural Water Supply Training class in Strong added so very helpful input and techniques they learned at that class. The more prepared firefighters are with water supply the more efficient they can be at attacking the fire. | ||||||
BRUSH FIRE SPREADS TO SHED |

| FARMINGTON: 5/10/08 - 13:50 Farmington Fire Units were dispatched to the Bailey Hill Road for a Brush Fire. Upon Arrival crews found a out building fully involved. Mutual Aid was dispatched to New Sharon, Temple, New Vineyard, Chesterville, Strong, Wilton, and Industry Fire Departments. The out building was a total loss but crews were able to save the barn and farm house. | ![]() |
